ABSTRACT:
A Small survey was done to assess the knowledge and attitude of student nurses on Professional Attire in Selected Institute of Nursing, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Total of 40student nurses were selected through consecutive sampling technique. Tools used to collect the data were Demographic profile, Knowledge Questionnaire and Attitude scale. The content validity of the tools was established by expert’s agreement. Major findings of the study revealed that majority of the participants were student nurses between the age group of 21-23yearsand out of which 80% were females. The results revealed that knowledge and attitude regarding professional attire does not play an active role when it comes for implementing the practice. It has also been observed that in spite of having knowledge about how to maintain professional attire students do not act and maintain their appearance professional and proper.
