ABSTRACT:
Exercise during pregnancy has been consistently recommended by obstetricians has many advantages for the mother and fetus and has a high priority in health care. In this regard any program requires recognition of knowledge and performance level of the pregnant woman in relation to exercise. The objectives: 1. To assess the knowledge and attitude with respect to physical activity during pregnancy among selected pregnant women 2. To correlate knowledge and attitude with respect to physical activity during pregnancy among selected pregnant women 3. To find out the association between the knowledge with respect to physical activity during pregnancy with selected demographic variables among selected pregnant women 4. To find out the association between the attitude of respect to physical activity during pregnancy with selected demographic variables among Methodology: Descriptive research design was used for the study. Data was collected by 101 pregnant women using convenient sampling method. Result: The result shown that maximum of the samples had poor knowledge (65.35%) and 34.65% had average knowledge with regard to physical activity during pregnancy. The mean score of knowledge was 5.76+2.35. Maximum of samples were shown the positive attitude (55.44%) and neutral attitude (44.55%) with regard to physical activity during pregnancy. The mean score of attitude was 31.68+3.65. Only age was associated with attitude of the women with regard to physical activity during pregnancy. Only age of the women is associated with attitude (P>0.05)
