ABSTRACT:
The objectives of the study were: 1. To assess the knowledge regarding management of pediculosis among mothers having 5-15 years of children. 2. Find out the association between the level of knowledge and selected demographic variables. A quantitative research approach was adopted for the study. The study was conducted among 30 Mothers of under five children among selected areas of pallitthottam, Kollam. In order to assess the knowledge regarding importance of vitamin A among under five mothers in selected areas of pallitthottam Kollam, the study sample were selected by convenience sampling technique. The tool used for data collection consists of demographic profoma and structured questionnaire, basic introduction of the study was given to all subjects. The analysis of the data was based on the objectives of the study using descriptive and inferential statistics. The major findings of the study were as follows: The findings of the present study showed that there is no significant association between knowledge and demographic variables like age, type of family, education, religion, monthly income and nutritional status. The findings of the present study showed that there was majority of the mother of under five children have average knowledge regarding the importance of vitamin A. Based on the findings the investigator have drawn implications which were of vital concerns in the field of nursing practice, nursing administration, nursing pattern, nursing education and for future development.
